The Mayor's Proposed Budget

The highlights include a $1.25 million match which leverages state funds for the Rupp Arena, Arts and Entertainment District from reallocated bond proceeds, two additional fire and police classes, a 2% raise for the non-union employees, an investment of $800,000 in an Emergency Operations Center, $125,000 for improvements to facilities and technology for Corrections, increased funding for the Police and Fire Pension, $1 million for the Purchase of Development Rights, $3.9 million for road paving, $200,000 for Corridor improvements, $388,000 for Parks improvements, and funding for Design Excellence Guidelines and the UK Design Center. It does not include any broad-based tax increases.
