This fall the Fayette County Public Schools opened Locust Trace Agriscience Farm.   You can see the video of my recent visit to Locust Trace on GTV3.  While there I talked with Joe Norman, the principal,  Susan Stokes Hill, the architect of the building and a partner in Tate Hill Jacobs,  and Sara Tracy, the Community Liaison.

Locust Trace is part of the Eastside Technical Center, which prepares students for an occupation or for additional education at a state technical center, community college, university or other post-secondary institution.  I learned about their zero waste campus, net zero energy usage, and their approach to sustainable agriculture.

The students are excited by this new facility and what it means for their high school experience. For the rest of us, the school provides a stunning example of elegant design and super-efficient functioning.  Contact Sara Tracy at Locust Trace if you would like to see one of the great things that are happening in our community.
