East End Bike Events

Congratulations to the William Wells Brown Neighborhood Association on their East End Bike Events!  On Tuesday, my aide, Leah Boggs, helped serve lunch at the second of three events.  Both events have been a rousing success!  During the first two events, the kids learned about bike safety and healthy eating.  During the last event, the kids will ride their bikes on a short ride.  The kids are provided a bike and helmet to use if they do not have their own.  The final event of the summer will be held on August 2d from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Charles Young Center.

Hopefully, these events will generate interest in the Isaac Murphy Bike Club which will start this fall.  The Bike Club seeks to link inner city kids to the Legacy Trail which starts at the Isaac Murphy Memorial Art Garden.  I appreciate their action to teach our kids healthy habits!
