Distillery District Feasibility Study

Last week the consultant team released the Final Report of the Lexington Distillery District Improvements Program Feasibility Study  The report provides three alternatives and a ranking system, with costs ranging from $14 to $24 million  The report recommends Alternative #3 with a cost of $17 million and by far the highest ranking.

The report also prioritized early action items deemed essential in catalyzing private sector investment: a preliminary plan for the street and trail; a phased evaluation regarding floodplain boundaries; a utility service partnering initiative; a sanitary sewer service implementation plan, and a stream revitalization plan.  The total estimated cost for these early action items is estimated at $825,000.  Approximately $1.7 million remains in the original bond allocation that can be applied to this project.
