Food Trucks Inch Forward

At the last meeting of the Committee working on a food truck ordinance the group moved a little closer to completion by discussing possible boundaries,  rules, and regulations for a proposed pilot program that would allow food trucks to use public space in the downtown core and adaptive reuse districts. At the next meeting,  on April 30th,  there will be maps showing what is included in the downtown core area and the adaptive reuse districts, where bricks and mortar restaurants are located within these areas, and their operating hours.

The Committee is working to ensure that a move to allowing food trucks is done in such a way that it does not negatively impact residential areas and existing businesses.  The Committee believes  their work will be completed in the next couple of
meetings.  They hope to report out to the Planning Committee before summer
break. Their next meeting will be April 30th, 1:00 pm, in the 5th
floor conference room of the Government Center.
